He always seems to accept the judge’s decisions. Most boxers, after having two extremely close skirmishes with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, would be suitable for a draw after the referees (some say predictably) rule in their favor. Canelo. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case with Gennady Golovkin. The Kazakh fighter always leaves the impression that he is secure in feeling that he has not only won twice, but that anyone with an eye would agree. Even now, entering his third battle with Canelo this weekend at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena, Golovkin doesn’t seem to be worried about the Vegas rating. All quite strange. Again, the entire career of the man known as “GGG” is rather odd.
Feeling despised by the great powers of Europe, the then young gun made his way to America, to Big Bear, California to train under the venerable tutelage of Abel Sanchez. From there, Golovkin created a trail through the middle weight class, making himself truly afraid of the powers. Like Marvin Hagler decades ago, Golovkin had to explode on his way to the top of the middleweight class. He is no one’s golden child. Even with the backing of HBO at the time, Golovkin fought victory after victory until he was finally able to beat Canelo in 2017. Both men fought. outstanding that night, although most people believe Golovkin played better. Man. The judges, as they often do, disagreed with the public, ruling the match in a draw.
The rematch a year later was another display of high-profile glove warfare. This time, the referees gave Canelo the complete victory. Fans continue, many, if not most, see a large amount of bias in the game. However, Canelo continued to win, continuing to challenge himself. Golovkin, on the other hand, fought only four more times, against solid but not brilliant competition. The exception was Sergey Derevyanchenko, who helped him run pretty fast. Then, just as many fans began to watch him in the past tense, Golovkin had a chance to face his arch rival once again.
Suffice it to say, Golovkin is not expected to win when he takes on Canelo for the third time this weekend. In fact, the consensus this time seems to be in favor of Canelo who ultimately defeated the controversial sans opponent. Golovkin, of course, had other ideas. The man had a secure legacy. Now, however, he has once again had the chance to put Canelo on his conquer list, a respectable feat for any boxer, much less so than many arguably past his prime. he. If anyone could do better at 40 (yup, he’s 40 now), it could be Golovkin.
