Harley-Davidson Street Bob was one of the most stripped-down large cruisers The Motor Co. With a neatly trimmed bodywork, little to no passenger seating and the smallest speedometer we’ve ever seen on a factory bike, there’s very little to get rid of if you’re into customizing. adjust one. That’s exactly why Winston Yeh’s rudimentary crafts in Taiwan love to work with it.

For his latest project, Winston took a stock sample of 2020 Street Bob, and turn it into a sci-fi customization that looks like it came straight out of a video game. This bold aesthetic has a lot to do with his clients; The bike was built for Cooler Master, a major manufacturer of computer cases and peripherals.

They have been in business for 30 years and are huge in the gaming community. Wanting an epic show to celebrate this milestone, they turned to Rough Crafts.

Winston tells us: “On the occasion of our 30th anniversary, Cooler Master asked me to build a matching bike and computer case to celebrate. “I set out to combine elements that are characteristic of both worlds—the trademark purple glow, sharp edges, and boxy shape found on most Cooler Master cases. Plus the signature Rough Crafts fin details, with lots of forged carbon fiber.”

Nicknamed the ‘Cosmic Charger’, this Street Bob is wild, futuristic, and filled with really thoughtful details. We were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Winston’s early design sketches and witness first-hand how he agonizes over the balance between cool and cliché. After all, how do you add LEDs to a car without making it look like a street racer who wants to be a street racer?

Fortunately, Winston finally figured it out. There are nuances of other Rough Crafts builds here—such as the heavy scallops on the bibs, fuel tank, and tail. But the closer you get, the more you spot the subtleties that convey the vibes of Cooler Master products.

To succeed, Winston turned to design and 3D printing. Given that he worked on many Milwaukee Eight Softmail ok, now he has 3D scanned their chassis and is ready to ‘build’ on it. The bib, fuel tank and rear end are all digitally designed, then 3D printed with high-grade polymer.

From there, Winston turned to regular collaborator, SFC Simon Fiber Craft, to wrap each part in forged carbon fiber. Not only does it add an extra layer of material, but it also creates the beautiful marbled texture you see on every part.

Running along the middle of the bib, through the top of the fuel tank and up the tail is a series of CNC aluminum radiator wings. The backlight is illuminated by purple LEDs, they are a plus for computer radiators. The fuel tank itself is really just a cover, with a custom-built aluminum fuel cell hidden underneath it.

The main lighting system of the car comes from Koso. There’s a pair of LED spotlights at the front and LED turn signals at both ends, with the rear pair doubling as taillights.

Hidden beneath the bodywork are a host of chassis upgrades. Rough Crafts fitted a new set of Ohlins forks, held in place by custom yokes. Öhlins shocks are connected to new rear swingarms from The Speed Merchant.

The wheels are from Performance Machine, measuring 18 inches at the front and 16 inches at the rear. The tires are Metzeler’s ME888, while the brakes are matched by Beringer calipers with Performance Machine discs. Rough Crafts has also upgraded the clutch to a hydraulic setup from Rebuffini.

Street Bob’s motor wears Rough Crafts x Arlen Ness footrests, grips, shakers and cam caps. The handlebars and finned air filter are parts from Rough Crafts, while the switches are from Rebuffini. They are also completely plug-and-play, designed to integrate directly with Harley’s CAN bus system.

Winston mobilizes his usual dream team of collaborators to push the project to the finish line. MS Pro handles all the fabrication—including the custom exhaust and burly boxy silencer—while CT-Garage handles the final assembly.

Line&Circle Custom Paint created a glossy finish, using subtle black finishes and pin stripes to complement the forged carbon sections. 2Anomalous factions come to the party with custom push-pull collars and tank badges, plus a special Rough Crafts emblem for a custom computer case Winston designed.

That’s exactly the kind of attention to detail we’ve come to expect from Rough Crafts. This Street Bob might not be to everyone’s taste, but there’s no denying that it’s both cohesive and menacing. From front to back, every part here has a sense of belonging.

The Cosmos charger actually looks like it’s also completely wild to ride. Winston may have designed this custom motorcycle for a computer parts company, but we’ll have it on the road in a snap.
