Fury-Whyte Officials Announced, Cacace and Walker on Undercard

At the request of Tyson Fury and co-promoter Frank Warren, no British referee will score the WBC heavyweight title defense against Dillian Whyte.

The two powerhouses will meet at Wembley Stadium on BT Sport Box Office (£24.95) on April 23 and the man in the middle will be referee Mark Lyson.

Liverpudlian’s last senior assignment was as Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams in February and was in charge of Whyte’s stunning knockout loss to Alexander Povetkin in August 2020.

Scoring on the sidelines of the match will be judges Guido Cavalleri, Juan Carlos Pelayo and Robert Tapper.

The latter took place on the spot for the first bout between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury, scoring 114-112 for the Briton and judging only one professional bout (Felix Cash-Magomed Madiev) since.

News about Fury-Whyte could reach us soon. According to The Irish News Anthony Cacace and 2020 Olympic athlete Kurt Walker will appear on the bill.

Cacace, 7th in the WBA lightweight rankings, will face Colombia’s Jonathan Romero for the WBO International title at 130lbs.

Meanwhile, Walker will have his second bout at the pro after winning the first round on his debut in February.
