From Utah to Florida: 25 hotels you can book cheaper with Choice Hotels Sweet Spot rewards
This early year, hotel of choice has started a new Sweet Spot Points promotion. This promotion allows Choice members to enjoy discounted bonus nights at featured hotels during certain stays.
Featured hotels and dates of stay change every few months. Featured properties will now have a discounted conversion rate for nights staying between December 1, 2022 and January 31, 2023. Here’s what you need to know to make the most of it. this promotion.

Choice members can book discounted reward nights at select hotels for stays between December 1 and January 31. Here’s an overview of what’s going on. Featured hotel and their discounted redemption rate:

As you can see, this promotion covers a number of hotels near popular destinations. For example, Quality Inn Bryce Canyon is 27 miles from Bryce Canyon National Park and Comfort Inn & Suites Mount Rushmore is 3 miles from Mount Rushmore. Alternatively, Hotel 17 West, Ascend Hotel Collection, is located in downtown Tulsa and offers a free 24-hour airport shuttle service.
Normally, when redeeming Choice points, you can book different types of rooms with the same number of points at multiple hotels. For example, at Norfolk Lodge & Suites, Ascend Hotel Collection, you can book a variety of rooms — including golf suites and suites with kitchenettes — for 16,000 points per night through January 31.
It’s worth mentioning that every featured hotel I clicked on had good reviews from guests. Choice may be using this promotion to highlight some of the best-rated properties.

How to choose prize price?
Choice privileges There is no typical prize chart and no standard dynamic pricing is used. Instead, Choice sets the reward rate for each property based on the date range and day of the week you stay.
As a result, Choice may have reduced reward rates for these properties even without the Sweet Spot Rewards promotion. Additionally, some properties retain their discounted bonus rates even after January 31. For example, Studio Z, Ascend Hotel Collection, is set to charge 12,000 points per night for stays up to ends April 15, 2023.

Note that the listed Sweet Spot rate is the starting rate. Additionally, Sweet Spot rates are not available every day of the week for some properties. For example, you can book Comfort Inn & Suites Jacksonville — Orange Park for 16,000 points on Friday and Saturday nights and 12,000 points on other nights for stays through January 31.

How to earn Option points
You have several options if you want earn more points Choice Privileges.
If you need to earn points quickly, you can switch American Express Membership Rewards point or capital one miles to Select at 1:1 scale. Or, you can switch Citi ThankYou point to 1:2 Option if you have Citi Premier® Card or Citi Prestige® Card (no longer open to new applicants). you can also consider buy Option Points.
If you don’t need the points to get to your account quickly, you can open a transferable rewards earning card mentioned above and meet the minimum spending requirements to earn the rewards welcome. Alternatively, you can open a Choice Privileges . co-branded card and earn Live Selection points.

bottom line
It’s worth checking out the list of Sweet Spot Rewards Points every time Choice announces a new featured hotel group. After all, the hotels that stand out are often the ones with good reviews. So if that fits your upcoming travel schedule, you’ll save some points and possibly have a good experience staying at a highly rated hotel.
However, since Choice does not use prize charts and frequently changes the point prices of its properties, I do not believe this promotion should be called “hotspot”. I recommend checking your payout rates and calculating your potential conversion rates before redeeming points.
It’s disappointing that Choice is only offering this promotion to US residents and — for now at least — at US properties. I tend to get great value from Choice Privilege points in Europe and Asia, so I’d love to see some of my favorite properties in these regions appear periodically in the list.
