Fox News will not hold a hearing on Thursday, January 6
Cable and network news covered in prime-time hearings on Thursday, January 6 will once again have a notable hole: Fox News.
Fox won’t be conducting the hearing in person, instead dedicating the hours that are usually appreciated to the usual lineup of programming by Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham. Its sister network, Fox Business, will hold a live hearing starting at 8 p.m., the company said in a statement.
Viewers of Fox News, the country’s most watched cable news network, will probably have to wait until midnight for any lengthy discussion of the evening’s events. Anchor girl Shannon Bream would dedicate her nightly show at the time to this theme.
Other Committees rush hour hearing last month also not broadcast live by Fox News. After that, the network also broadcast the lineup in the regular prime time slot. Mr. Carlson explained to his audience, as he has many times before, that he would not consider the committee to “lie”. Mr. Hannity dismissed the hearing as a “sham.”
Fox News aired the hearings that took place during the day, when less than a million viewers were watching. But those days are hardly big for the network. It has been eclipsed in ratings by CNN and MSNBC, a rare occurrence.
