Place in Ffos Las It’s soft right now, good to soft in places but hard to dry so we’re pretty much guaranteed soft ground on Wednesday. We have selected four horses that must appreciate the conditions of the day.
12.50 Ffos Las
Harry Fry trained Imperial Esprit will likely start a very warm order for this 13-runner handicap chase. A seven-year-old son of Scorpion, who doesn’t cross the barrier much but looks to propose differently than the fence, began chasing bows at Uttoxeter last month. He may gain 10lb for that but he still looks in front of the disabled.
2.00 Ffos Las
Having won twice on soft courts, Chinwag looks certain to do well in this competitive handicap. He has won three of his last six races since he had wind surgery and runs and can be expected in his comeback when he finished second at Uttoxeter last month. There will be more to come.
2.35 Ffos Las
Lossiemouth has a real love for the mud and the former dual bumper winner came back from a lengthy absence to win well on handicap debut at Ascot last month. The step up in trip will suit and he still has very low mileage on the clock so further improvement has to be expected with blinkers replacing the cheekpieces he wore last time out.
3.10 Ffos Las
Tudors Treasure ticks a lot of boxes here. The 10-year-old is a course and distance winner and also loves soft ground. Narrowly denied here over track and trip on his return, he should be right in the thick of it again with a repeat run.
