Norway has worn the crown of world “land of EVs” for a while – enough even we have WOMENnotice via years. So it makes sense that this Nordic country is home to many electric vehicle models available on the planet. But they weren’t happy about getting a particular car… and let Ford know it. Like the country’s coordinated movement to become a leader in electric vehicles, it rallied its countrymen to demand Ford to send Lightning F-150 Abroad. And follow the Detroit free press Last Ford agreed to do that.

Convincing Ford to bring a car that wasn’t originally designed for the market was no easy task. It took a year for customers to do everything from begging Ford to bring it over to a 4,000-member Norwegian Facebook group to annoying Ford Norway CEO Per Gunnar Berg.

And as Berg pointed out, Lightning fits most Norwegian lives. “The F-150 Lightning is the perfect choice for many customers in Norway — with its unique ability to quench our thirst for adventure while nurturing our passion for the environment.” Berg said.

Ford brought over actual Lightning owners from the U.S. to talk with potential Norwegian customers about how much they love their trucks. One owner, Jacen Craft from Ohio, shared that he and his husband run a roofing company and started their EV ownership with a Mustang Mach-E. Eventually they ended up with both a standard and long-range Lightning. He said about everything from different ownership experiences to dealing with cold weather, but he certainly points out that the experience isn’t bad.

“Range is down a bit.” Craft said. “We drove to northern Michigan in 20 degree weather. It took a little longer, but we stopped anyway. … By the time you take the dog out, get the food, and use the restroom, we’re usually done charging and haven’t even finished eating.

Cold weather and trams don’t go well together, but Berg mentions that Norwegians have mastered the art — know when to preheat the battery to charge and when to stop and charge it properly.

The other barrier Norwegians may not master is price. F-150 Lightnings are already pretty expensive in the United States. Berg confirmed arrive press freedom That price is expected to start at $113,000 — including taxes and fees — when the trucks arrive in 2024. At that price, customers there will be a choice of one color, Antimatter Blue, capable limited amount of lightningS offered as a Launch Edition, also in Green antimatter, but like Super crew cab.
