Ford Ranger with hardcore ARB accessories shows Australia off at SEMA

Ford in the US has revealed a new off-road-ready Ford Performance package for the Ranger at this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas.

This Ford Performance off-road concept package for the North American-specification Ranger ute uses a range of ARB-sourced components and will be available to US customers during 2024.

It will only be available on Ranger XLT and Lariat models equipped with four-wheel drive.

Neither pricing nor the full list of package inclusions have been confirmed yet, though it will be available to purchase in the US through the Ford Performance Parts website or through a dealer accessory counter. Either a Ford dealer or accredited shop can perform the installation.

The package for the Ranger ute is targeted at overlanding and includes an ARB overland suspension kit, new ARB front and rear bumpers with additional recovery points, onboard air compressor, SOLIS driving lights, as well as an available refrigerator/freezer.

It’s unclear if Ford Australia plans to offer a similar package on the local Ranger, which is sourced from Thailand.

Ford Australia currently has a partnership with ARB to sell its accessories for the Ranger and related Everest SUV through its dealers under the Ford Licensed Accessories Program.

These factory-backed ARB accessories are covered by the same five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty as the vehicle, provided they’re purchased and fitted at a Ford dealer.

In addition to the Ranger Ford Performance off-road vehicle package, Ford also revealed packages for the related Bronco off-roader, as well as the Mustang pony car.

The Bronco Ford Performance off-road concept package is aimed at beach driving and consists of a Bilstein suspension kit with a two-inch lift, 17-inch white wheels with 35-inch tyres, high-clearance Borla cat-back exhaust, ARB jack and mount, and an under-bonnet air compressor.

The Ford Mustang FP800S concept package that will be available on the Mustang GT adds a new 3.0-litre Whipple supercharger kit that boosts total output to “at least” 597kW of power.

For context, the Australian-specification Mustang GT produces 347kW and 550Nm, mated with either a six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission.

The kit also includes a Ford Performance half-shaft upgrade kit and a street lowering kit. Options include a Borla Extreme cat-back exhaust with quad 5.0-inch tips and carbon-fibre aerodynamic elements.

The Blue Oval has also used this year’s SEMA show to showcase new personalisation options for the Bronco and Bronco Sport, as well as new custom vinyl wraps that will be available for the F-150, Mustang, Bronco, and Explorer.
