Ford Ranger was ended up behind by a police car, claimed separate insurance, then received saman
You must feel for this Ford Ranger owner. It sucks when your car gets hit by another car and you have to claim from your own insurance policy then you get slapped saman. The second is because the other vehicle in this case is a PDRM van and the police have the power to fine.
UPDATE: Temerloh County Sheriff Mohd Azhar Mohd Yusoff released a statement on the matter. He said the case was handed over to Temerloh DPP, who ordered saman. The law states that vehicles must not stop and turn into a dual lane (Lizzy claims that Ranger slows down to turn at a breakpoint in the front double lane) for any reason. Mohd Azhar added that action would have been taken against the police lorry driver and also the coroner if he was found to be careless.
How did this double whale come to be? The driver’s sister, @itslyzaa_ on Twitter, explained and shared a sneaky video of the incident. Even though it was a dash cam in front and the truck was hit from the back, it showed the incident very clearly.
Basically, the Ranger driver wants to turn right onto the old Jerantut – Temerloh trunk road and slow down, keeping on the right side of the road. Lizzy said her brother signaled, and the video shows a large room overtaking on the left, where two cars were used without incident. The Ford was then hit and the impact pushed it into the opposite lane. Fortunately, there is no oncoming traffic.
Polis langgar belakang kereta abang i. Abang i ada recorded dashcam kalau nak bukti kukuh. Nak claim polis tak boleh insurance. So I claim sendiri insurance. Now polis saman pula abang me? Memang undang2 jalanraya kalau polis langgar orang awam yang kene saman ke? @JPJ_Malaysia pic.twitter.com/tcuKaJJEaV

What really terrifies the woman is saman, which says her brother “letak kenderaan dengan bahaya, halangan”. Congestion, basically. Claiming its own insurance meant the NCD was gone, and apparently, Ford was out of business for two months for repairs – a lengthy outage for a businessman who used his truck for Work. Rotten luck even before saman.
We are not sure what action one can take if he/she feels unjustly accused by the police, as in the case of this Ranger driver. Surely you cannot complain to the police when they are the ones who are accusing you? Either way, you’ll need evidence to back up your story, and dash cam recordings will be invaluable. It’s best to have front and rear cameras, but even just one front camera can record a crash from behind, as shown here.
Expanding on the Twitter thread above to capture the full story and dash cam.
