Ford Mustang Mach-E discounts on steep production

Ford has responded to Tesla’s massive Model Y price drop by offering up to $5,900 (A8400) off its electric Mustang Mach-E crossover.

The price cuts are partly related to the larger scale, with Ford saying a healthier supply chain will allow it to significantly increase production this year to reduce wait times.

The Mustang Mach-E is the number three EV model in the US by 2022, and the company says its updated pricing is part of its “plan to keep the SUV competitive in a rapidly changing market.”

“We will not give up the land to anyone. We’re building more electric vehicles to reduce customer wait times, offer competitive pricing, and work to create an unmatched ownership experience,” said Ford customer manager Marin Gjaja. know.

This does not necessarily mean, however, that the ‘Stang’ electric vehicle in question will arrive in Australia faster, which is still off-limits to local buyers.

While Ford Australia hasn’t made an official comment yet, we understand the Mustang Mach-E won’t be here until next year – as one of five previously announced electrified Fords will be. by the end of 2024.

When it gets here, the Mustang Mach-E will join Exit PHEV (launching in 2022), Electronic transit EV (due in early 2023) and Custom electronic transit The EV (also coming in 2024), as well as another mysterious vehicle – likely a long-anticipated vehicle Forest ranger PHEV.

The introduction of the Mustang Mach-E will give Ford a rival not only Tesla Model Ybut also Hyundai ioniq 5 and KIA EV6 and coming soon Subaru Solterra and Toyota bZ4x.
