Ford Australia confirmed the first customer examples of its upcoming local remanufacturing F-150 rolled off the US production line.
The company already has a prototype of F-150 in Australia, with a scout at this weekend’s Finke Desert Race used to transport Ranger Raptor that will be the settlement of the song.
That’s the Lariat, which will be the highest of two trim levels initially available in Australia. It costs between $139,950 and $140,945 before off-road depending on length, while the base XLT ranges from $106,950 to $107,945 before off-road.

The pickup was built in Dearborn, Michigan, before being switched to right-hand drive by RMA Automotive in Mickleham, Victoria.
Since this is a prototype, Ford Australia says details such as interior trim are not necessarily indicative of a production vehicle. This example is also equipped with off-road tires and different wheels.
While powertrains such as the twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6, the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 hybrid, and the 5.0 and 5.2-liter V8s are offered in the US, the XLT and Lariat only came here with one Twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine.
It’s the best-selling powertrain in America and produces 298kW power and 678Nm torque, sent through the all-wheel drive system.
The entry-level XLT variants get part-time all-wheel drive in 2H, 4H and 4L models, while the top Lariat variants get full-time four-wheel drive with 4A mode.
With a brake pulling capacity of 4500kg, the F-150 is suitable for Chevrolet Silverado And ram 1500 when it comes to the claimed heavy-duty carrying capacity.
Ford blamed strong sales of the Silverado and Ram for the decision to bring the F-Series back to Australia after nearly two decades. U.S. full-size pickup truck sales have skyrocketed since 2018 and Blue Oval doesn’t want to miss the opportunity.
Vehicles will be covered by a 5-year unlimited km warranty and will be sold and serviced through the Ford Australia dealer network.
The amount it will be converted to is yet to be confirmed (or revealed), but Ford Australia boss Andrew Birkic has made it clear that Blue Oval wants to sell the F-150 in decent numbers.
While the F-150 left local showrooms in 1993, its heavier F-250 and F-350 cousins were sold here by Ford Australia from 2001 to 2006.
They are made by Ford in Brazil with right-wheel drive, and depending on the variant are available a 5.4-liter V8 petrol engine and a choice of two turbo diesel engines: a 4.2-liter six-cylinder and a V8 7 ,3 liters.
