Honda has released a sketch of its upcoming all-electric SUV, called Prologue and coming in 2024.
Honda considers the sleek design to represent “the clean, simple, and timeless values of the global Honda design direction, along with a long wheelbase, shorter overhangs, and a boldly defined silhouette.” equipped with operable tires”. It notes that the mid-size electric SUV was designed in Los Angeles in collaboration with a team in Japan.
With the rendered rendering perspective slightly distorted, it was difficult to keep track of the Prologue’s profile. The slimmer headlights wrap into the contours, and while Honda notes a strong hint of the Honda e subcompact hatchback up front, we don’t see it.

It is working with dealers on a “tiered approach” to update them for electric vehicle sales, based on potential electric vehicle sales in local markets. It’s not clear if that just refers to how it’s preparing its dealers or if it means it will only offer electric vehicles in states where it might see an advantage. The company plans to sell 500,000 EVs in the US by 2030.
The opening will be based on GM’s Ultium Electric Vehicle Platformoffers large-format pouches, a wireless battery management system, a set of GM-designed motors, and heat pump technology. GM will put together the Prologue and an upcoming one Acura electric SUV. Acura is expected to be assembled in Spring Hill, Tennessee, along with Cadillac Lyriqbut the companies have yet to announce the location for the Prologue.
Honda calls the Prologue “First-volume Honda EVs” and notes that Honda-built EVs will begin arriving in North America in 2026. In the West Coast states, Honda previously sold Suitable for EV and Electricity is clear models, as well as the clear plug-in mix and the Accord plug-in Hybrid.
In addition, Honda plans to start producing and selling a wide range of models affordable electric vehicle co-developed with GM in 2027.
