Final Day of the “Unique Light” Contest


We’re almost 48 hours away Critique of the community photo contest. The theme of this month’s competition is “Unique Lighting” and the prizes include several new products from lighting company Profoto.

Every month, Fstoppers runs a photography contest for our readers, and for the month of May, we ask you to submit your best photos featuring unique or unusual lighting. These images can depict any subject and can span many genres, so don’t think your submission has to be portrait or landscape. You can import anything from products, macros, architecture, portraits, and street photos. The only requirement is that you share an image with uncommon lighting or that stands out in some way.

The 10 best photos from this contest will be featured on our page. Youtube Stream Community Criticism. As with all of these competitions, we have some great prizes for the top three images, and this month Profoto is rewarding first and second place with a variety of complete “Profoto softboxes”. their brand new. This contest is open to everyone and each member of the Fstoppers Community can upload 4 images for consideration. After uploading your best photos, make sure you include a few sentences about how you took the photo, what process you used to create it, any technical information you might have. can be useful to other photographers, and is perhaps the most important detail, how you created or stumbled upon the unique lighting featured in your images.

All submissions need to be received by May 24, 2024 by 11:45 p.m. Eastern time. We’ll select our favorite images to critique and announce the next Community Critique as well as the top winners.

Below are the prizes of the May contest:

First place – One grand prize winner will receive a set Proto’s 3′ Octa And Silver-lined soft box 1×4′. Each of these three softboxes comes with a 1.0 f-stop diffuser, but the first place winner will also include both a 1.5 f-stop and 0.5 f-stop diffuser f-stop to help further change the softness of these softboxes. If that’s not enough, Profoto has also included their Edge Mask system for each of these softboxes, which allows you to completely change the size and style of the softbox. Finally, you will also receive matching Softgrids to help prevent spills of both of these softboxes. Total value $1999
