Fate / Grand Order Creative Producer Leaves Delightworks
Fate / Grand OrderCreative producer Yosuke Shiokawa has left Delightworks to set up his own studio. According to a Delightworks spokesman, Shiokawa left the company at the end of January. Shiokawa’s fully owns this new studio, called Fahrenheit 213. It will focus on developing brand new IPs, rather than working on existing franchises. [Thanks, Bloomberg!]
In an interview with BloombergShiokawa said that he will focus on “creating new game franchises for any platform, regardless of [its] sizes.” In addition, he believes that working independently will allow many opportunities for cooperation with other companies.Shiokawa is largely credited with manufacturing Fate / Grand Order Mobile games are as successful as they are today. He became the Creative Producer of Fate / Grand Order in 2016, signaled a change in the title and led to its popularity.
In mid-December 2021, Aniplex announced will acquire Delightworks’ game development division. This includes all Fate / Grand Order develop team. Following this announcement, Delightworks revealed that it had formed a new company for its game development division. The company will convert to Aniplex in Spring 2022. President and COO of Delightworks Yoshinori Ono Announcement he will also be joining Aniplex’s new gaming subsidiary.
