New high performance revealed Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is the latest car to be offered with carbon fibre wheels made by the Australian company The Carbon Revolution.
These optional one-piece carbon fibre wheels are said to be “significantly lighter” than the regular aluminium option, helping to reduce unsprung mass to 19.4kg.
The Corvette ZR1The 10-spoke carbon fiber wheels measure 20 x 10 inches up front and 21 x 13 inches at the rear.
Carbon Revolution claims the Corvette ZR1’s rear wheel is the widest carbon fiber wheel in the world.
The Geelong-based company makes these carbon fibre wheels on what it calls the Mega-line. The ZR1 is now the third Corvette, following the Z06 and E-Ray, to offer Carbon Revolution carbon fibre wheels.
Carbon Revolution also manufactures carbon fiber wheels for a range of Ferrari models including SF90, 296 GTB, F8 DedicationAnd 812 Contests.
Other vehicles available with Carbon Revolution carbon fiber wheels include Range Rover Sport SV And Ford Mustang Black Horse.

It packs a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged flat-plane crankshaft V8 engine Called the LT7, GM says it’s based on the LT6 in the Corvette Z06.
Chevrolet engineers installed twin turbochargers, a first for a Corvette at the factory, to boost power by 783kW of power and 1123Nm of torque.
The Corvette ZR1 will go into production in 2025, although Australia is not on the list to receive the model.
“We currently have no plans to introduce the Corvette ZR1 into our Australia and New Zealand product portfolio, but we will monitor demand and evaluate further over time,” a GM Specialty Vehicles spokesperson said.
In addition to carbon fiber wheels, the Corvette ZR1 also features a carbon fiber backbone between the two rear windows to increase heat dissipation from the engine bay, as well as a carbon fiber hood.
There’s also an optional ZTK performance package that adds a larger rear wing, front dive wing, and high Gurney flaps – all made from carbon fiber.
