Fasig-Tipton July Horses of all ages Sales soar
The July 11 single sale at Fasig-Tipton’s Selected All Ages Horse Sale in July can be described in one word — awesome.
WinStar Racing has consigned sales cars of the day, Kuchar , who commanded the final bid of $500,000 from agent Steve Young. Today sees consistent energy from start to finish with a broad and competitive buyer base.
“I think it’s going to be even stronger than we anticipated. We’ve seen great demand for racehorses in good form right now,” said Fasig chairman and CEO. -Tipton, Boyd Browning Jr. said Monday night.

At the close of business, 129 of the 159 horses were offered for sale for a total of $10,814,000, with an average price of $83,829 and a median of $58,000. Thirty horses failed to meet their reserves to account for an RNA ratio of 18.9%.
Browning commented: “We saw an unbelievable depth in bidding on a large number of horses through the ring. “There’s been a lot of activity; we’ve had East Coast, West Coast and International engagement, which is encouraging.”
At last year’s edition of the Age Race and Breeding Stock Sale, held on the same day, a total of 123 horses were sold out of 156 horses on offer with a final figure of 7,917,500 dollars. At a median price of $64,369 and a median of $40,000, the 33 horses failed to meet their reserves to exhibit an RNA ratio of 21.1%.
Browning added: “Overall, we’ve had a strong market and the best part is the depth of the buying bench. Buyers are coming into the sales office complaining they used to be able to hit the drop. this price and buy what they want and this year is being blown out of the water, which is great to hear for our sellers and owners.”
Leading the sale for $500,000 was Kuchar, a 3-year-old son of Uncle Mo Kuchar, who has staked this year in both the Oaklawn Stakes and most recently the American Derby at Churchill Downs July 2.

Steve Young, buyer as an agent completed a one-day trading session as a top buyer with four purchases made for $1,265,000 with an average price of $316,250 for each horse.
“I think it’s like any other race-age horse sale. You look at them after the fact, and many of them are a lot more than you would expect, but with your wallet. them in places like Kentucky and New York, running horses are worth a lot of money,” Young said.
ELiTE sold 22 of the 22 horses on Monday to be the top consignor of the day, with $2,573,000 in sales and an average of $116,955 for the horse sold.
“Overall, it’s been a very encouraging day. We’re somewhere between very happy and thrilled with the outcome,” Browning said.
