State-bred Incentive Bonuses at Golden Gate to be Paid

All bonuses that are part of the California-bred Incentive Program will continue to be paid to qualifying horses that race in the upcoming Golden Gate Fields meet, according to Doug Burge, president of the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association.

That includes all existing awards for breeders, owners and stallion owners. There is a 30 percent owner award bonus in open Maiden Special Weight races and in allowance races for finishing first through fifth. There also is a 20 percent bonus for the winner of a starter allowance race.

The Maiden Bonus Program makes available a $10,000 bonus for owners of registered California-Bred or California-Sired maidens in Thoroughbred Maiden Special Weight races in Northern California.
