Fantasy Defense Leaderboard Week 12: Who will start, sitting at D/ST in fantasy football
For a number of weeks, there doesn’t seem to be a shortage of legitimate starting D/ST picks, whether it’s because of the best players in solid situations or because there are plenty of potentials who fell asleep thanks to the matches. very convenient. Other weeks…well, they’re like this week. Our Week 12 Fantasy Defense Ranking illustrates why some owners will have trouble finding worthwhile streamers this week.
Byes doesn’t have a big impact on our rankings. The Chiefs and Cardinals are out of the game, and while the Cardinals have been a solid D/ST this year, in theory, hitting two good fouls off the table should produce fewer bad games. . It’s not.
WEEK 12 STANDARD RANKING:
Midfielder | Run back | Wide receiver | Tight ending | Kicker
Reason? Two of the best matchups – the Jets and the Texans – play against each other. Unfortunately, both have such bad D/ST that we don’t rate them very well. You can certainly count on matching trends, use one of those defenses, and hope for a sloppy, risky match, but you’ll have to take great risks. The Falcons and Jaguars are similar to the Jets and Texans – two great D/ST opponents facing two of the worst imaginary defenses. Again, you can try playing one of them, but good luck. Let’s throw the Bears-Lions game into this category, at least from the Lions side.
WEEK 12 PPR RANKING:
Midfielder | Run back | Wide receiver | Tight ending | Kicker
We know any defense can pay off in a given week, but we want to trust talented D/STs like the Rams (@ Packers), Steelers (@ Bengals), Colts (vs. Buccaneers) or Packers (vs Rams) despite the tough games. The Rams have been having some revenue problems lately – something the Packers excel at generating – so Green Bay has had the most explosive growth. The Colts have also been on fire, and we’ve seen the Bucs struggle recently (against New Orleans), so the Colts have a good floor at home.
As far as live streamers go, Hot Eagles (@ Giants), Dolphins (vs Press) and Bears (@ Lions) look like your best bets, but you can also try your luck lucky with Seattle meets Washington. The Panthers weren’t a perfect match with Sam Darnold sidelined, but Miami still has enough talent to limit Carolina.
Overall, many virtual stock holders will be taking a risk with a D/ST this week, whether it’s starting the defense with a low ceiling or a stock with a low floor. Figure out what makes the most sense for your team and hope for the best.
Note: We’ll be updating this D/ST leaderboard throughout the week, so check back for the latest analysis and player movements.
