I also examined sea level trends at Townsville and Cooktown and extensively investigated temperatures measured by weather stations in Gladstone, Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns. Much more is to come, but each detailed investigation will take several months to complete.
Upon close scrutiny, much of the ‘science’ of coral bleaching reported in the Top Rated Journals consistently uses the same data, or the same grueling study using the same data. to develop a spell that based on experimental data fails with reality. . Using images of dying coral reefs to cash in on Australian taxpayers, the ARC Reef Research Center built an elaborate castle in the air. With the high salaries of executives and boards, and the entanglement of government policy, they and their partner organizations have become too wealthy, too unsustainable, and therefore too expensive for the services they provide.
Based on a review of hundreds of articles, much of their research is questionable, flagrant, ill-considered, performed using biased imaging techniques and inappropriate statistical methods. Moreover, they pay handsomely to have WWF and pose as scientists at the Climate Council, the unit Conversation and even the Australian Academy of Sciences (aka the Australian Academy of Drama https://quadrant.org.au/opinion/doomed-planet/2021/04/the-australian-academy-of-drama-queens/) within and in favor of their cause. ARC Center of Excellence for Coral Reef Research is not a truly unbiased research facility where views are openly debated in the public interest. Instead, they filter and massage every word and fire those who express the usual, refreshingly contrasting views like Dr. Peter Ridd.
Imagine you could combine bleaching somewhere and a coal-fired power plant in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales or India, or a fleet of private jets flying to Davos. Reef science has little to do with Reefs and has a lot to do with political outrage and virtuous signaling. In contrast, for example Donald Trump at Davos in 2020 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2O3Z3IAkUc) with the shameful and pathetic essay read by Prime Minister Morrison of Australia in 2022 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMLDh7nO9-c).
Under the Australian Constitution, Reef science is a State matter of Queensland. However, UNESCO’s declaration in 1981 turned it into a political football and now the Canberra-based beggar bar has become evident. Defended by Labor ‘mean girls’ including former Climate Change Minister Penny Wong, and Green Liberals including Morrison (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOvrV_JMlbY), the current Australian Environment Minister Sussan Ley is too weak to do anything about it. Instead of demanding an audit of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Parks Authority (GBRMPA) and allied organizations including CSIRO, Bureau of Meteorology, James Cook University and the University of Queensland, just one day the Prime Minister ordered give them another A$ billion. 10 years continue to play drums.
The Reef Plan 2050 . Independent Expert Panel led by Professor Ian Chubb was part of the problem and should have been disbanded years ago. 17 members Reef 2050 Advisory Committee which includes WWF with their agricultural shutdown agenda will be next. Since there is no warming and they serve no useful purpose, and the GBRMPA ‘reef managers’ are just splashing money, making money and writing reports, using plans, goals and What is ‘investment’, when the real goal is the destruction of Australia’s electricity grid and the replacement of central Queensland agriculture with woody weeds under the umbrella of ‘carbon farming’? Of Australia’s main political parties, only The Nationals is positioned to rise to the challenge and drive positive change. However, with a federal election due in May and the Labor Party waiting to continue where Penny Wong left off, they are dragging their feet.
All we can do at https://www.bomwatch.com.au/ is to continue to expose the top-down rot that has gripped Australia’s scientific institutions in the hope that people will notice. After all, it only takes one person who is good at crafting the first snowball, two let it roll, and when it gathers speed, the rest should ask Minister Ley and former Minister Wong to act on behalf of the others. taxpayers, or seek out less destructive careers as Ministers and Ministers await.
