If you’re traveling from the Washington, DC area, we found a journey from Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) on United Airlines for $138.

You can get the same price on a similar Sunday-Tuesday getaway from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Miami (MIA) aboard Delta Air Lines.

Early season skiing in Colorado and Utah

Ski resort is starting to open in parts of the country, and many more will be ready to welcome guests in the coming weeks.

Chicago tourists can take part in some early season activities during Colorado with this $158 round trip to Denver International Airport (DEN).

It’s definitely a Long Weekend itinerary will allow you to get through the biggest crowds at airports, departing on Wednesday morning and returning on Monday evening.

If you still have the energy to travel right after Thanksgiving or if you’re staying home for that holiday, there are also some good prices for long weekend trips in early December.

And if you’re looking to travel from southern California to hit some skiing, current prices suggest you might be better off considering a ski destination in Utah like Park City, is a trip by car or shuttle from Salt Lake City. This early November weekend includes a late Friday afternoon departure, with a Monday night return on JetBlue for $103.

Fall Flights to Washington, DC

After the peak fall foliage in New England, catch some changing colors in the mid-Atlantic with a hike or visit to wineries outside Washington, DC or visit Smithsonian’s just opened National Air and Space Museum in the city.

If you can skip the fall foliage part of your trip in favor of everything else DC has to offer, from its monuments and museums to its grand hotels and restaurants, then next weekend Thanksgiving can work.

This is a Friday-Sunday round trip from Atlanta for $98 aboard the Delta; note that you will be flying to Baltimore / Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). If the 11:00pm departure on Friday is too late, I’ve seen earlier options for the same price available if you want to travel for the day.

For $158, you can fly into Dulles International Airport (IAD) on Friday from Miami and return Monday morning.
