Exascend has unveiled a new certified CFexpress Type B 512GB VPG400 card called Nitro CFexpress. Assuming it hits the market, it will be the world’s first Class B CFexpress card with a Video Performance Guarantee Profile 4 (VPG400) rating, ensuring that minimum write speeds during video capture are minimal. 400MBps maximum. (Western Digital’s SanDisk Professional PRO-CINEMA CFexpress VPG400 card, announced about a year ago, will be the first, but it doesn’t appear to be on the market yet.)
The new Exascend cards offer sequential read and write speeds of up to 1,850MBps and up to 1,700MBps, respectively. It is also IP67 certified, which means it is water and dust resistant.
The Taiwanese company has yet to provide information on availability or pricing.
