EV travel trailer, range boost sensor, main California EV: Car News Today
About half of Californians are thinking of an EV as their next vehicle. A camping trailer ramps up the reach towards production, fully loaded with batteries. And could better sensors help use more batteries in the EV range? This and more, here Green Car Report.
Research from Japan shows that using diamond quantum sensors can increase EV driving range by 10%—Simply through their greater accuracy and sensitivity. This technology can also be used to optimize fast charging performance and use solid state cells.
Colorado Teardrops reports that it has completed a prototype version of its designed camping trailer to extend the range of tramcars—A world first, it declared. It also says that it has partnered “with a major automaker” to improve related technology and revealed plans for larger touring trailers, perhaps better suited for use with vehicles. Large load capacity like the F-150 Lightning but based on the same idea.
And according to a recent survey commissioned by an EV advocacy organization, almost half of Californians are “likely to choose an electric vehicle” next time they enter the car buying market. While it delivers enhanced results, it also suggests that policymakers – and automakers, perhaps – could do much better with EV education and incentives.
