Erica Mena Blames Safaree Samuels For Being A ‘Single Mom’ 2X

Erica Mena is the past, believe her and Safaree Samuels will never be. That’s obvious”, Love & Hip Hop said the star at the Atlanta reunion show, aired on Mondays. But she also shared that she had little confidence in how much Safaree cared about her during her pregnancy.

“I was in a hospital bed with this man’s son. That man didn’t care if I made it through that pregnancy, that man didn’t care if I made it through that labor,” Mena said.

A judge signed off on their divorce in September after Erica filed in May 2021. Safaree will pay $4,305 in child support. Safaree and Erica share joint, legal custody of their daughter Safire and son Legend. Going back to being single has plagued the ex-couple with online exchanges and accusations.

As Erica shared her experience, seemingly unable to hold back her tears, she explained about being a single mother for the second time.

“Like I had to drag myself out of that dark place. With my first son, I was so busy that I sacrificed so much time for my first child that I am still trying to make up for it to this day,” says Erica. “And this is something that I confessed and was very vulnerable to him, which is why it was so strange that he knew the traumatic experience of being a single mother once, and then he turned around and made me a single mom twice.”

Before Erica explained her grief, the presenter asked Safaree if it hurt him watching the clip of their marriage falling apart and hearing Erica speak.

“You know, I always purposely numb myself from everything so I don’t feel pain. You know, I tell myself I don’t care, so I can really believe it, but there’s a pain,” Safaree said.

Erica says that their children are her concern now

Mena says she cannot expect accountability from Safaree. In her own words, he is not “debt.” [her] nothing” but owes it to their children, and that is all she says she cares about.

At first, nothing was exactly what Safaree had come up with until more co-stars joined in. Reunion host and co-star Lil Scrappy urged him on “Come on,” but Safarie seemed reluctant. Another co-star Shekinah Anderson also added that, “grow up,” to which Safarie replied, “Shut up the f**k again.” Anderson shot back, “You can curse me out, I’m cool with it.”

Again, Scrappy urged him “tell me” because yes “someone out there like [him.]” Safari replied, “I don’t even know how to start.” Shekinah urged him again, and Kirk Frost encouraged him to share his experience.

Safaree apologizes for leaving after their son was born

The father of two replied:

“Who wants to get married, have kids and end up here? I wouldn’t think two years from now, this is where we’ll be. We were just in a place where who could hurt the most, and we were there for a long time. So bad. Definitely sorry for the time our son was born and I left a week later.

Erica interrupted, saying that it was “day,” not a few weeks after Legend was born, that Safaree left. As Erica continued to interrupt, both the host and co-stars, such as Bambi, tried to explain that he might not feel safe enough to speak. Safaree’s last words were that he hoped their relationship would get better.
