EPMB secures EV manufacturing license approval from MITI – plans to build an assembly plant in Melaka
EP Manufacturing (EPMB) has announced that it has received a conditional manufacturing license from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) to manufacture and assemble energy efficient four-wheeled vehicles (EEVs) and electric vehicle (EV) in both passenger and commercial categories.
In a statement, the EPMB was told that the approval, under the scope of the Industrial Coordination Act of 1975, had been given to its wholly owned subsidiary Pepsi-JV (Melaka) (PJVM). on July 10. They added that the license EPMB is subject to conditions that the PJVM must meet within six months of receiving the letter of approval.
The company said the manufacturing license would allow PJVM to start a manufacturing plant to assemble EEVs, EVs and other related products. According to the CEO of EPMB Group, Ahmad Razlan Mohamed, the company is planning to set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Pegoh, Melaka.
He said that the company is committed to implementing the conditions set by MITI within the given time frame. “We believe this initiative will not only accelerate business growth but also support Malaysia’s aspirations and vision for a greener future,” he added.
EPMB is a Malaysia-based investment company engaged in the automotive business. Its various business activities are mainly related to the production of auto parts and components.
