This action RPG first launched in 2017 on PS4 and Steam. The latest version of this action RPG gives players access to all of the previously released DLC – plus skins exclusive to the Switch release. Here’s a bit about it from Nintendo’s website:

The world is critically acclaimed for NieR: Automata Invade Nintendo Switch! When a mechanical lifeform from another world attacks without warning, unleashing a new kind of threat, humanity is driven from Earth and sheltered on the Moon. As 2B, a member of the YoRHa android army force, immerses himself in a fierce battle to take back the planet.

And here’s what reviewers have to say about the Switch version:

GameSpot thought NieR was “enough permissions on the Switch” to make it worth checking out:

“Nier: Automata qualifies on Switch that it’s still definitely worth playing here. Combat still feels smooth, load times are reasonable, and in the few hours we’ve been testing it, it’s easy to forget that it doesn’t run on PlayStation or Xbox.”

Pocket Tactics awarded the Switch version a score of 9 out of 10, noting how “little to no noticeable” is:

“Nier Automata is one of the best games from previous generations of consoles, and it made the leap to the Nintendo Switch in an incredibly impressive way. and the magical, innovative nature of the game. things sing louder than ever.”

Nintendo World Report gave the PlatinumGames title a perfect 10/10, mentioning it as “one of the best third-party Switch ports”:

“This is possibly the best third-party Switch port I’ve ever played, which makes it easy to recommend this game to people who haven’t played it before. There’s simply no two way to go about it. it: NieR Automata was a design success in 2017, and it’s a success of porting major games to Switch in 2022.”

Gaming bible also praised it, labeling it a “great port of a phenomenal game”:

Nier: Automata on the Switch is more than good enough to end all endings from A to E again if you’ve done it – this time in the comfort of wherever you like. And for newcomers, this portal is of such a high standard that you are guaranteed not to feel like you have a worse experience than those of you who have played the awesome hack-and-slash-and-cry-a. this awesome -bit ‘ them on other platforms. It’s a showcase that the Switch really doesn’t have to be an ‘inferior’ system to its console-generation peers, when a port is within the right reach. “

And God is a playboy gave it a 9/10 – summarizing it as “necessary” and “still preferable” despite some hardware hurdles:

“I can’t tell you it’s the best version, and I can’t tell you you need to buy it again, although I’m sure Mr Taro will love me. But I’m glad I played it, because it’s a reminder that no matter how old you are, or how many games you play, there are special moments that will always stand out from the rest.

“NieR: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition is excellent. It’s a bit rougher than its siblings thanks to the hardware, but the heart and soul is present, the story and combat are excellent, and the concept is real. doable going to the toilet during play, somehow, feels like some sort of meta-ending game for the title that even the biggest fans couldn’t have predicted. necessary, still people who like to play. Let’s play this game.”
