Email shows ’emergency’ media role in ‘Climate Information’ & Hill Hearings – Interested in that?

Early last week, a Bloomberg ‘cyber reporter’ named Margi Murphy began angrily emailing and calling two groups (Energy Policy Advocates and Government Accountability & Oversight), and apparently anyone else she could identify with some connection to the groups, expressed media complaints. “harass climate scientists” – by which she of course means seeking public records in the most sincere form of flattering Greenpeace, which pioneer Thus using the open record rule. It’s clumsy but, again, not uncommon as these stories pop up every few years in times of climate-complex desperation.
Then the new emails released on Friday night made things much more interesting.
This reporter’s specific complaint is the apparent tyranny of using public records laws to release public records showing how public officials use their publicly funded positions and resources. them to help with Facebook’s cancellation campaign, “Climate Response”. That activity is styled as an ‘independent fact checker’ but (seems like some mass media) on the call to try and cancel those who effectively question climate dogma – namely so far Steve Koonin, Richard Lindzen/PragerU, Bjorn Lomborg, Michael Shellenberger and John Stossel.
While this cancellation campaign – like Greenpeace’s FOIA – is of course ethical, asking about the employee’s role in it is “threatening” and “harassed”. \ _ (ツ) _ /
As the week drew to a close, reporters became increasingly frenzied in her (her words) emergency. After several hearings about the House’s rumored “climate misinformation” were officially brought to attention, it became clear that she was in a hurry to find something usable in the forums. Meaning, there was a coordinated PR campaign between the media/Hill/activists active use of government offices and other resources disparagingly opposed their agenda as a coordinated and therefore inappropriate PR campaign, and demanded records on how public institutions were used in campaigns of intimidation, harassment, to cancel opponents are real threats and harassment. (Leaving aside that this practice was implemented by the parties, using a tool created by the political left (now we find out: only) Because left), and the conditions of public employment to which these officials have agreed.)
Bloomberg reporters largely reflect their own ignorance, equal to that of course. But then Fates conspired to release more emails, well timed on Friday night, and they confirm: this Bloomberg ‘urgent’ item has also been up for sale to others, at least as of late January or February. This also happened right before a House “misinformed” hearing that also needed something to wave around breathlessly, although that event was wiped clean after it became apparent that the hearing was not the same. The first ceiling failed.
This embarrassing revelation interestingly confirms what everyday evidence suggests about our institutions and the importance of the public’s right to know about it.
