Elon Musk said he would reverse former President Donald Trump’s permanent ban on Twitter if his deal to buy the social network goes through.
Banning Trump “is a morally bad decision, it should be obvious, and is utterly stupid,” the billionaire said at a Financial Times conference on Tuesday.
Twitter kicked off Trump after his supporters stormed the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. The social network said Trump had broken rules against inciting violence.
“I think it was a mistake because it alienated a large part of the country and ultimately didn’t result in Donald Trump having a voice,” Musk said, pointing out that the former president had said he would start posting. Post on your own social media. Communication app, Truth Social.
