Arizona Senator Wendy Rogers was criticized by her colleagues Tuesday in a bipartisan vote.

The Arizona Senate, in a bipartisan vote, criticized a Republican lawmaker for calling for violence against her political opponents, saying Senator Wendy Rogers of the state “hurts damage the reputation of the Arizona State Senate by her actions.”
The move comes days after Rogers spoke at a conference hosted by a prominent white nationalist in which she called on her political opponents to hanged. She later used Anti-Semitic jokes to describe Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, who is being invaded by Russian troops.
The event – America’s First Political Action Conference – hosted by Nick Fuentes, an outspoken white nationalist and online troll, was also attended by US Delegates . Paul GosarR-Ariz., and Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga. Both lawmakers have drawn scrutiny for their past remarks, although neither has been formally reprimanded by party leaders for their presence at the event, although both all have to face political isolation.
“There is no place in the Republican Party for white extremism or anti-Semitism,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said in a statement.
During the conference, speakers made racist remarks and cheered Russian President Vladimir Putin, comparing the Russian leader to Adolf Hitler.
Rogers, in his remarks, praised Fuentes – an outspoken racist who said he did not believe that women should have the right to vote – is “the most abused man in America.”
13 Democrats and 11 Republicans in the 30-member chamber voted to censor Rogers. She engaged in “behavior unworthy of a senator, including publishing and publicly promoting on social media and video messages encouraging violence against and punishing American citizens, and issued statements threatening to declare ‘political ruin’ to those who disagreed with her views,” the move criticized against Rogers said.
In a series of tweets on Tuesday following the censorship, Rogers defended her appearance at the conference as a demonstration of her First Amendment freedom of expression.
“I’m not apologizing, I’m not going to back down, and I’m deeply disappointed by the leadership of this agency for colluding with Democrats to conspire to destroy my reputation,” she wrote.
Additionally, Congressman Taylor-Greene, who has a long history of promoting racist and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, also took to Twitter to further emphasize his remarks.
Posting a video clip from her speech at the conference, Greene wrote: “I’m not going to play the guilty association game where you ask every conservative to justify anything ever said by any whom they used to share a room with.”
“I’m not going to get sucked into that. I’m only responsible for what I say,” she said, referring to speeches that included bigoted language and praising Hitler as “a few unkind remarks.” colorful.”
