One of Australia’s largest electric vehicle (EV) charging networks has reduced discounts for members of the country’s largest motoring club.
From 8 March 2024, Chargefox will reduce discounts for members of Australian Motor Services owned clubs – such as NRMA, RACV, RAA, RACT and AANT – from 20 to 10 %.
The Australian Motor Services Authority also owns RACQ and RAA, although members of these two organizations can still benefit from the 20% discount – as long as they are charging at a select charger in your state, with a 10% discount applicable in other jurisdictions.
In July 2022Australian Motoring Services has taken full ownership of Chargefox, with the electric vehicle charging company expanding to have almost 250 charging stations across Australia.
However, there are only 21 Chargefox charging stations where car club members can take advantage of the discount. These locations are listed at the bottom of this article.
Chargefox says the cost of using one of its chargers varies by location, just like the cost at a gas station.
Its chargers range from 7kW to 22kW AC units, to 50kW, 150kW and 350kW DC fast chargers.
The most recent price increase was announced on mid-March 2023with some locations in New South Wales and Victoria set to see a surge.
