Elden Ring’s new story trailer is pretty confusing

A new one Elden Ring The newly released trailer for The Game Awards introduces the story of the new game from Dark Souls developer FromSoftware and Game Of Thrones creator George RR Martin. Well, I say it introduces the story, I mean it does it in a very Soulful way, reeling with names like “Blade of Miquella, Malenia the Severed” without explaining anything. This looks like it’s going to be the game’s opening cinematic, so if you’re watching this trailer right now, hey, it’s almost as if you’re starting Elden Ring two months earlier. Almost.

I’m pissed, but I like Souls’ intro style. Vast outlines of a world, a few hints at characters we’ll probably never meet, some basic backstory that we’ll never really understand. It creates mysteries, then potentially gets them hanged. A good vibe.

Our Ed played the Elden Ring network test recently (sadly only on consoles). He say, “although my time with the Elden Ring has been brief, I’m confident this is Souls taking a step in the right direction. It’s both new and familiar, but forever enjoyable.”

Yes, I’m good for that. From what I’ve seen, I really like it sound like the game Souls, with some familiar sound effects and relaxed tone. Also, I admire the pot boys. The absolute highlight of The Game Awards is a boy in clothes waddling across the stage. Oh, I wish that life-size first aid kit was a Collector’s Edition. I want to buy that.

Elden Ring will launch on February 25, 2022 via Steam, as well as on Xboxes and PlayStations.
