Eddie hears the fire return at Neil Marsh, Avanesyan’s manager

Eddie Hearn had an attack yesterday in response to a tweet from Neil Marsh, manager of European welterweight champion David Avanesyan.

Last night Marsh wrote, ‘A certain promoter continues to hate our true champion, David Avanesyan, who is one of the [the] the most beautiful boys in boxing. Time to book [the] write this straight down for the next few days. The amount of shit that comes out of people’s mouths is shameful. ‘

Avanesyan, now promoted by Frank Warren at Queensbury Promotion, has long been involved in the fight against Conor Benn but the fight appears to have never been fought.

Andi Purewal of Boxing Social released the tweet from Marsh and asked Hearn about it, who praised Avanesyan a lot in his long response time.

“Great warrior, very dangerous warrior not as big as the battles I was looking for,” Hearn’s reply began.

“The next battle Conor Benn needs to be fought on David Avanesyan’s level. And I put Avanesyan on a par with Danny Garcia, Mikey Garcia, Adrien Broner but you just have to look at the last time he fought to tell you the size of David Avanesyan. That’s not disrespect. I’m just telling you that we can’t make a war so big that it kills many people [DAZN] subscribers, that will pay Conor Benn the same money we might pay everyone else. “

Hearn, who promotes Conor Benn-Chris van Heerden tonight in Manchester, later revealed an offer was made to Marsh after Avanesyan stopped Josh Kelly 14 months ago.

“Let me tell you one thing about David Avanesyan that people never talk about. We asked Neil Marsh to take on Alexis Rocha in a knockout match for the WBA world title in the US. This is after the Josh Kelly fight. Instead, he chose to fight Liam Taylor. David Avanesyan’s last two fights were against Liam Taylor and [Oskari] Metz. What a shame.

“Conor Benn’s last two matches were against Chris Algieri and Chris van Heerden. Who is up against the higher-level opposition? If you want all these big fights, go and fight big. I don’t mind Neil Marsh at all. Don’t worry about Conor Benn, do your job and make him a real fight
because he is a real talent.

“Avanesyan is an outstanding fighter. Avanesyan is a good man, he is a lovely guy, I think he is a lovely man but what are they doing to him, no clue. Forget us, if we don’t want to fight, don’t worry. We will fight Algieri, van Heerden, Mikey Garcia, Adrien Broner, Kell Brook and then
we’ll see with whom David Avanesyan fights. ”

Hearn is not executed. The Matchroom promoter told Boxing Social that they would hold a match against Avanesyan if a match against Garcia, Broner, etc could not be made. But then he went from ‘we will’ to ‘we will definitely consider’.

“If we can’t get a big name, we’ll fight David Avanesyan, no problem. It was a great fight. It was a very dangerous war. How much more can I praise David Avanesyan as a fighter. It was a really dangerous fight, Mikey as well, Danny Garcia as Broner, that’s the level of those guys.

“One of the main reasons why he [Benn] still haven’t boxed Avanesyan is because I feel that it’s a really hard fight having to generate enough risk/reward. I couldn’t compliment more than that. I’m not saying he’s not good enough, we don’t need Avanesyan. I say he’s good, he’s dangerous, he’s not Mikey Garcia, Danny Garcia, Broner. If we can’t get a big name, if we can’t get a big draw, we’ll definitely consider David Avanesyan despite everything being said.”
