While many fans around the world may have cheered and cheered at the sight of the unexpected breasts during an unorthodox celebration of a recent influential boxer, promoter Eddie Hearn not among them.
At a Kingpyn Boxing event on Saturday in Dublin, Daniella Hemsley won a unanimous decision against Aleksandra Daniel – and revealed her topless breasts in front of the camera. The moment instantly went viral.
Hearn admits his opinion could be seen as preachy, but when asked recently about it, he rejected the moment and suggested traditional professional boxing separate himself. from the world of celebrity and influential boxing matches.
“My opinion is, I hate it,” says Hearn boxing society. “I hate it. We’ve worked very hard so that women in boxing are respected for their abilities, achievements and hard work. One thing we have to understand is that it’s not boxing. That’s it. It needs to be pushed. All that – Misfits, Kingpyn, all that. It needs to be kicked off as far as pro boxing, and we really need to separate ourselves from what it is. .
“It does great numbers. It is entertainment. That’s all that, and what we saw there (with Hemsley). For me, what I’m trying to do and what we’ve been doing over the years, the sacrifices people have made to be respected – again, that’s not boxing. But at the same time, I think it’s more of a reflection of society than a good or bad reflection of boxing. I do not like it.”

As the celebration went viral on social media on Saturday, some fans echoed the same sentiment Hearn offered. However, there were also many supporters of Hemsley’s celebration, including IBF bantamweight champion Ebanie Bridges.
“I think tonight all the people who complain/about me and say I ‘show off’ have seen what ‘showing off’ really looks like… something [sic] I would never do that,” Bridges wrote on Twitter. “Has weight in Underwear like everyone else… but has big breasts…. And then actually have your boobs on TV. I get why she did it… she’s an ‘influencer’, it’s all about views and she knows it’s going to break the internet, drive views and people talk about it. that. So she succeeded in that… their goal was to beat the Internet.”

Flash, which has been viewed millions of times on multiple social media accounts, has certainly attracted a lot of attention. Hearn acknowledges that, but says it speaks to a larger problem for society as a whole.
“The problem these days is that you want the kids to have great role models,” says Hearn. “I have two daughters. When my daughters spend time or meet Katie Taylor, it’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen – they look at a woman who has accomplished so much and show them. that anything is possible, even when everything is going against you, anything is possible, i think what we are lacking in society right now are role models.
“Unfortunately, we now live in a world where role models or influencers don’t necessarily do what the older generation, I categorize myself, or the parents want. your child sees or thinks is acceptable. (It) has nothing to do with women, has nothing to do with men. You want your child to behave a certain way. In my opinion, that’s not how you want your child to behave. This is just my opinion. But we live in a spiritual world. Unfortunately, influence is just being chased everywhere. For each of their own.
Saturday’s bust-up wasn’t the only show in recent history of combat sports. In September 2022, BKFC fighter Tai Emery won his promotional debut by TKO and immediately jumped on the rope to pull up her shirt and reveal her breasts.
Emery, who publicly supporting Hemsley on social media since Saturday, has told MMA Junkie that the decision to expose herself is not only to advance her career but also to empower.
“For me, it’s like a real girl’s power, like, ‘What the hell are you going to do?’ In that moment, I owned everything.” Emery told MMA Junkie many days later. “I own time in my own world. I think it’s the most perfect thing like, ‘You can’t do anything about it, you know?’ That was my moment. Nothing can be changed.”
