Eddie Hearn considers Tyron Fury “sometimes fake” based on his reaction to the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua.
In the aftermath of Joshua second loss in a row against the Ukrainians, Fury took to social media to label the fight ‘one of the worst heavyweight title fights’ he’s ever seen. He claimed he would defeat both men on the same night and called Joshua a ‘amnesiac’.
AJ’s promoter caught up with IFL TV at his premiere Series of champions in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism. During the interview, he was asked again about Fury’s reaction to Joshua’s loss.
“It’s not really about the war, he’s laughing about the war. But listen, everyone must understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and everyone should be allowed to have an opinion.
But I just see it sometimes as fake. If you’ve been through times where you talk about it and you see someone going through tough times in front of your eyes – I just feel that you’ll be a little more empathetic.
Now if you’re a rival and you don’t like him, and you want to poke fun at him and laugh at him, I understand too. Sometimes it works both ways. But I just feel as if you’re seeing someone going through a situation, maybe it’s not like you, but you see the signs that it could be similar, you can be a little more empathetic – but maybe we’re in the wrong game. “
