Do you check your luggage or are you normal?
A fully loaded Boeing 737-800 has room for 189 seats and US airports have The loss rate is about 0.75% of the total checked baggagealmost certainly one on this theoretical plane will arrive at the destination without changing clothes or their swimming trunks and sandals. I can tell you one thing, it definitely wasn’t me. I haven’t checked my bag since 2012and I have no intention of changing that. I know where to change my underwearyou have?
The strategy I’ve followed for more than a decade is to keep most of my belongings in a hard-sided rolling bag that fits into the overhead compartment and a small duffel bag to put at my feet. I can fit everything I need for a week or two abroad in those two bags, and if I can’t, I’ll pare down until I can. Sometimes that even includes a motorcycle helmet when I fly somewhere to try out a new bike. Of course, I couldn’t lose my helmet before my new bike test. And even if the airline doesn’t lose your bag, you still have to wait to check it at departure and wait for it to be picked up at the baggage claim counter at your destination. I’d rather walk in and walk out without talking to anyone, thanks.
We’re almost at the end of the work day and we both know you won’t be getting anything else done for the rest of the day, so let’s talk about luggage. Would you rather be whisked into the spinning rotors of an Embraer than roll a bag around an airport terminal? Would you rather eat a fast-food breakfast on the airport bathroom floor than check your bag? Which side of the divide are you on and why?
