Eddie Hearn On Fury-Joshua: “As Far As Our Concerns, The Fight’s Off”

Eddie Hearn, who was quite skeptical from the start of Tyson Fury’s offer to fight Anthony Joshua later this year, has now bluntly said that, as is all right, a Fury-Joshua bout is not going to happen. “In our minds, Tyson Fury is not fighting Anthony Joshua,” Sports sky quote Hearn (Joshua promoter) as said. “We’re happy to continue those conversations but what we’ve been told is that the deadline has passed.” The deadline was given by Fury, who ultimately said he would wait until last weekend to get a positive response from camp Joshua. That time has clearly come and gone.

And now, of course, there’s the index finger. Fury promoter Bob Arum accused Hearn of not wanting the fight to go down. “And why doesn’t he want the fight to happen?” Arum asked talkSPORT, “Because Joshua has lost three of his last five fights and he anticipates losing again if he fights Tyson Fury and so Eddie is really a hindrance.” Of course, Hearn sees things differently. “Eventually they gave us terms and one day they thought we wouldn’t accept,” he said. Sports sky. “We have accepted that. We are ready to go. ”

With that being said, Hearn has indicated he’s still open to negotiating a contract fight between the two popular heavyweights – just not for the hope day of December 3. “It’s still there. there,” he said of a possible war. “It is still open for discussion. But we’re not going to play a game with a guy who just tells AJ it’s off, and then he’s a judge, he has to sign it, etc. our thing and we’ll see what. will happen. ”

The truth is that December is not the ideal time for Joshua to get into another big fight. The man just lost his second straight game to Oleksandr Usyk late last summer. Moreover, Joshua was extremely worried about the loss right after the match. Going straight into the ring – with Fury no more or less – after such a physically and mentally exhausting fight is certainly not optimal. However, both Joshua and Fury have made it clear that they want the December fight to go on. And frankly there’s no reason not to believe them. After all, they are professionals. For now, however, it seems each man will have to look elsewhere for an opponent.
