Williams doesn’t back down: ‘Our culture NEED this conversation’
On Thursday, commentators and The Real Housewives of New York City alum appears on Breakfast Club to resolve the situation.
After explaining her comment and engaging in back-and-forth with DJ jealous On the impact of her statements, Williams talks about how she prioritizes facts over feelings.
“More than I care about hurt feelings, I care about providing my people with facts and information that say the current way of life of the black majority of Americans doesn’t serve them. me.”
After reiterating that she “doesn’t care about data and facts,” she spoke of “the current position of black Americans.”
“If you agree with the current position of Black America, then we [have] lowest income, lowest home ownership, least educated group, it’s the same.”
She added, “I’m not okay with that, so that’s why I said what I said about dealing with the stubbornness of low expectations.”
Williams claims that, although she understands people’s anger, “someone has to start telling the truth.”
“I’m giving it a name…I admit the pain, but someone has to start telling the truth to our people.”
After this interview, Williams continued the conversation on Instagram.
Beneath a video upload, Williams admits that – regardless of people’s stance – she knows “our culture NEED this conversation.”
“Honey, what I know for sure is that our culture NEED this conversation. Regardless of your position or how this conversation makes you feel, we MUST consider the class of people this problem in the Black community now… or deal with the consequences later.”
She ended by adding, “Let’s continue the conversation in the comments.”

The initial conversation began during a sit-down between Williams and Iyanla Vanzant ABOVE TheGrio.
After Williams mentioned how successful Black women can feel when available men “don’t make money” or “show up in leadership positions,” Vanzant asked if she “dating a bus driver or not”.
In return, Williams stated that she would only do so “if he owned the bus.”
Upon receiving some backlash online over her claims, Williams stepped in and clarified that – rather than demeaning working-class people – she was actually “pouring into promotion.” of Black men”.
“I was actually speaking and pouring into the advancement of Black men when I said what I said. But no, some of you have been too busy naming and embarrassing myself, and Black women in general, as unpopular gold diggers.
The commentator unrepentantly noted that, while many people may be used to praising their “mediocre,” she personally did not endorse “the stubbornness of low expectations.”
“Average is not and never will be good enough for me. And the interesting thing is, I don’t think it’s good enough for you either.”
