Rajasthan United defeated Indian Navy today and secured a place in the quarterfinals of the 144th Durand Cup.

Rajasthan united started the tournament by causing a huge disappointment by defeating the legendary ATK Mohun Bagan. Although the I-League team suffered a heavy defeat to Mumbai City FC (5-1), they still qualified for the knockout round.

Durand Cup Rules
If two or more Participating Teams achieve an equal score, the following criteria will be applied to determine their ranking (in descending order):
(a) Higher number of points obtained in matches between the Participating Teams concerned
(b) The goal difference is higher due to the matches between the Participating Teams involved. Goal difference will be calculated by subtracting the goals conceded by the respective participating Team in the League Round from the goals scored by them.
(c) Goal difference in all matches
(d) The number of goals scored in the League Round by the participating Teams is higher; and
(e) Lottery draw.
As a rule, since Rajasthan United won today’s match against Navy, it qualifies for the quarterfinals.
This is because with three sides going for seven points, Mumbai City FC and Rajasthan United FC have higher scores in matches involving three sides.

Rajasthan FC will face Hyderabad FC in the quarterfinals, the top team of Group C.
