What is this sharp-looking hatchback wearing a license plate? Discovered in Penang by Farizul, it’s the current generation DS4, first revealed by Citroen’s premium branch in February 2021.
The second generation DS4 comes out three years after the original – formerly known as DS4 . Watch – has been discontinued. Its maker says the five-door hatchback is designed to appeal to both crossover and traditional hatchback buyers.
The new DS4 sits on an improved version of the Efficient Modular Platform (EMP2) and measures 4.4 meters long, 1.83 meters wide and 1.47 meters high. It’s much longer and lower than the Citroen DS4 that went on sale in Malaysia a decade ago, and is about the same length as the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, but wider, as you can tell from the photos.
Exquisitely sculpted styling, distinctive and long LED daytime running lights, flat door handles and large wheels – 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels are available – mean this DS is very eye-catching. , like most models from this French brand. Actually. There’s no shortage of flair, that’s for sure.
It’s more conventional under the hood. Launching engines are the 130hp, 180hp and 225hp versions of the PureTech petrol line, plus the 130hp BlueHDi diesel. There is also an E-Tense plug-in hybrid version that combines a 180hp petrol engine with a 110hp electric motor for a total system output of 225hp and an all-electric range of 225hp. 50 km.
