“My wife almost cried at this moment. All errands, including picking up the kids from school, are delayed” because of this selfish act, he added. Shahrudin said while praising his wife for the patience shown.
Now, we remind you that double parking is not legal anywhere in Malaysia, and neither is acting vigilant. That means victims are encouraged to practice restraint and not let the law take its course.
The best thing you can do is contact your local council to have your dual-parked vehicle towed away. Some argue that it will take time for the police or local authorities to remove stoppers, but the law is still the law.
If you have to double pass, even in one futile minute, you should at least leave a number behind, okay? Otherwise, be prepared to pay a fine of at least RM300 for your convenience. In a worse case scenario, you are liable under Section 48(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1987, which means you will be fined up to RM5,000 or imprisoned for a minimum of 12 months, or both.
