Don’t miss our NEW Dog Coloring Book!

Share with dog lovers!

I’m really excited to share a project we’re working on this year: launching our new line of coloring books!

Years ago we had a coloring book that was out of print so ever since then we’ve been looking for a way to get back into the coloring book market and now we’ve found it. We just launched Doodlebug Publishing and the first seven coloring books in our growing line of dog titles available on Amazon:

Relaxing dog coloring book: Grab your favorite colored pencils, gel markers or crayons to relax and enjoy coloring dogs in a variety of settings.

Dog walking coloring book: Take your virtual dog on a walk through stunning countryside, quaint villages, seaside getaways and famous landmarks.

Passport coloring book for Pugs: No passport needed for Pugs’ global getaway enjoying locations around the world.

Dog coloring book on computer: This book takes a quirky look at what it would be like if dogs had their own computers!

Each dog coloring sheet has a blank back so you don’t need to worry about the crayons smudging onto the reverse image.

Why coloring is relaxing

In today’s busy and stressful world, more and more people are turning to relaxing activities to calm down and enjoy some digital detox for a few hours.

Coloring offers a unique combination of creative expression and mindfulness that many people find relaxing. This activity was once associated with children but has become popular among adults because of its medicinal benefits. The reasons behind its calming effects are multifaceted, involving psychological, neurological and emotional components.

First, coloring requires concentration and attention to detail, helping individuals escape daily stresses and get into the present moment. Focusing on the present – like our dogs enjoy in everyday life – helps reduce anxiety and stress.

The repetitive motion of coloring can also lead to a meditative state, reducing activity in the amygdala, the brain’s emotional center responsible for stress and anxiety. This change in brain activity promotes a state of calm, making coloring an accessible form of relaxation and stress reduction.

Additionally, coloring pictures of dogs or other pleasant subjects can evoke positive emotional responses. We all know that dogs are especially associated with friendship, loyalty and happiness. Interacting with these images through coloring can stimulate feelings of joy and satisfaction, further enhancing the relaxation experience.

The act of choosing colors and filling in spaces allows for personal expression and creativity, bringing a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction when the photo is completed. This creative process can boost your self-esteem and help you escape your daily routine, giving your mind a break.

Furthermore, coloring can facilitate children’s escape from technology and digital screens, which are often causes of stress and overstimulation. The tactile experience of coloring with a physical material like a pencil or marker engages the senses in a different way, providing a grounding experience that can be soothing.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing, mindful activity for yourself or for a dog lover, we hope you’ll check out our growing collection of coloring books!
