When Dog Rescue in Mladenovac, Serbia received a call about an abandoned dog wandering the streets, they knew they needed to act quickly.
Winters in Serbia can be cold, often falling below freezing. In addition, many dogs are at risk of being hit by cars, being attacked by other animals, lacking food, etc. The street has no place for dogs to live, so the rescue force had to go out to See what they can do.
What they found was a cold, abandoned, scared and hungry boy wandering the snowy streets. He was scared, but he allowed himself to be rescued instead of running away. Perhaps he was too tired to run, or perhaps he felt they were there to help.
The Rescue Dog Shelter is one of the few murder-free shelters in Serbia. They rescue animals from all over the country and provide them with a safe, warm place to live until they can be moved into permanent homes. They typically have hundreds of pets in their care, now with close to 400 dogs, puppies and cats.
They wrote on website. Despite caring for a lot of animals, the shelter refuses to feed the pets to make room for more rescues.
They will keep animals in their care as long as they can be found forever, meaning the animals are truly safe in their hands.
As for the dog they found on the street, they identified it as a 2-year-old male. They named it Snowy and took it to the vet. He’s in good health and stays that way, thanks to the lifeguards!
With a safe, warm place to sleep, Snowy finally seemed at peace. Now, he just needs to find a permanent home to call his own!
