Dog couple are about to end their lives and show their unconditional love
Michele and Jeff Allen are a couple with a heart of gold who took their time to do something amazing for dogs that were about to die.
Their six-acre home in Southampton, New Jersey, is home to dozens of dogs who need a place to spend their final days in peace.
At the Allens house, these dogs are allowed on all furniture, including their toddler bed, and there are almost no rules. They were cuddled by kind volunteers and played outside near a pond. They receive home-cooked dog meals daily and have regular vet visits.
Coming from shelters, these dogs have had a rough past, but now they can relax without worrying about the world.
Allens eventually founded a nonprofit called Monkey’s House, a hospice for elderly dogs.
They pulled the sick animals out of their shelters and gave them the love and care they could only dream of in their final days.
Without Allens, these dogs would die in shelters without knowing which ones are real dogs, living in a cozy home with loving humanity.
They named the nonprofit Monkey’s House after Monkey, a tiny shelter dog with a heart condition they used to foster. When he died, it inspired the Allens to found this organization.
The dogs at Monkey’s House are sick with anything from heart disease to diabetes to cancer. Of course treating these conditions can cost a pretty penny, but the fund is entirely based on donations and receiving help from outsiders, including a dog food company, who donate more than 60 pounds of food each week. They also have more than 50 kind volunteers who help them take care of the dogs every day.
Because of their big hearts, these dogs can sit back, relax, and enjoy life – as every dog should!
