Doe and her baby stop to thank Goldendoodle for saving Fawn’s life
On a beautiful summer day in Culper, Virginia, Goldendoodle Harley is enjoying the lake view behind her house as usual. And it’s a good day to be a dog because the afternoon is a peaceful backdrop of clear blue skies and calm conditions on the water. But the peace is soon broken when Harley discovers a troubled soul.
About 200 yards from the shore, at the bottom of the lake, Harley spotted a chick trying to swim. But this good boy did not hesitate. And it’s time parents Ralph and Patricia Dorn spotted Harley helping, the six-year-old had come to the fawn and was encouraging him to swim for him.
a heart of gold
Harley is a Goldendoodle with a heart of gold to match his shiny coat. He walks into the lobby of care centers to lift the spirits of the elderly as a certified therapy dog and visits local libraries to enjoy story time with children. His best friend is feline sibling Zsu Zsu, and Ralph and Patricia’s grandchildren are some of Harley’s favorites, with proud pup Ralph saying Everybody“He’s 100% glued to them.”
“We could tell right away, even as a puppy, he had a kind heart,” says Ralph. “He was always like that with children and animals. He loves all of them.”
And that’s why Ralph and Patricia weren’t surprised when Harley saved the baby deer’s life.

Hero of a Pup
Ralph shared a great moment on Facebookwrote, “Not sure how the fawn got there but apparently Harley didn’t ask why, he just jumped into action.”
Harley stayed with the fawn all the way to shore, where the mother deer would soon be reunited with her baby. But Harley wasn’t ready to let go yet.
“Harley didn’t want to leave the chick,” Ralph explained to People. “He just kept interacting with it, licking it, taking care of it.”
However, it wasn’t Harley’s last encounter with the baby he saved.
Back with gratitude
Harley most likely feels that he’ll never see the fawn again, but as Ralph wrote in his Facebook post, “The story goes on.”
The next morning, “Harley kept running from window to window.”
When Ralph opened the door to see what had made Harley so reeling, they heard the bleating of a baby deer.
“Harley ran into the trees and found the fawn,” said Ralph. “She stopped bleating and wagging her tail, they touched noses and Harley calmly returned home to me.”
The chick and its mother just wanted to stop by and thank hero Harley.
The story of Harley’s hero has touched many on social media and the Dorns family has been moved by all the love from dog owners, Ralph said: “We’re so glad the story has gone. touched a lot of people and also brought joy to a lot of people. .”
