Do you want to go skating dressed as an F1 Pit Crew member?
A strangely interesting video popped up on my social media feed yesterday. The video was shot at the Venice Beach Skatepark in Los Angeles, California. The scene focuses primarily on a skater as he leaps out of the bowl, pulls a nose grass up, and makes a logical landing. All of these are set to “Voodoo Child” by Jimi Hendrix. It’s a pretty sick clip, but something just doesn’t come out at all.
For two brief moments, there’s a figure skater in front wearing what appears to be a Formula 1 team member’s outfit. It’s not just a Nomex-branded flame-retardant suit, it’s a matching suit. Suitable for gloves and helmets. This skater was fully prepared to step out of a small fall and pitstop flare. Even so, I don’t think the shoes have matched the FIA’s.
Red Bull Racing’s gear is easily recognizable from the 2019 or 2020 Formula One season. There is a Honda logo on the left chest portion of the kit below the Rauch logo and no Honda markings below the Red Bull logo. as in the 2021 season. If the device authentic, I can’t imagine how expensive that purchase is. The closest equivalent I could find for sale online is a 2014 Red Bull Racing team jersey for around $518.
The last thing I want to mention is that this is Los Angeles. Although I jokingly tweeted that this proves that F1 has made it to the US, I really wanted to know how a Venetian Beach skater came to grips with the similar F1 pitlane outfit. recently and thought it was a good idea to wear it. out to the skating rink. I’m also worried about the next place someone will randomly appear in a formula 1 suit.
