Detained Mixed Hole Jump from the second story window to save herself and her friends

Sadie and Rocky are two Pit Mix mice that stick together for life. The couple has survived against all odds relying on each other’s comfort and ultimately courage and intelligence to survive. You see, Sadie and Rocky were abandoned by their family in a cruel and inexcusable way. Sadie and Rocky’s family has moved out of their derelict home, leaving the dogs locked inside with no food, water or intention to return. They even went so far as to go up to one of the windows so the neighbors couldn’t see them.

Sadie got smart with her abuser and saved them both

It is unclear how long Rocky and Sadie have been locked in the dilapidated and dangerous house. It took a long time for them to lose weight to the point that their ribs were sticking out and the flea infestation caused Sadie’s eyes to swell and her hair to fall out in patches. We can only imagine dogs scratching doors and screaming in their hunger and fear.

Sadie has reached a breaking point and decides that she will do what it takes to be free and get food. She took a chance, jumping from a second-story window to escape. Her brave jump was witnessed by a neighbor who was shocked to see the dogs still on the property and even more amazed by the dog’s brave action. Neighbor Raymond Sochor told WPXI News 11, “Put them into an abandoned house and leave them there to die? That is animal cruelty to me.” We agree, Mr. Sochor.

The Tiny Cause rescue team is taking care of the couple

Darla Held is the founder of the Tiny Cause rescue group. The rescuers on her team ventured into the house, which was located in a cave and had nails sticking out of the floor, to get Rocky. They’re taking care of Sadie and Rocky, nursing them back to health so they can be strong enough for adoption.

She reported to The Trib that Sadie had two ear infections, both infected by fleas, and both underweight about 20 pounds. The group raised funds on Facebook to provide the medical care needed to help Sadie and Rocky get in top shape for a lucky family to bring them home. The team is applying this pairing together, as they have a close relationship with each other.

Sadie and Rocky are improving day by day and will soon learn the true meaning of love when they find a forever home.

UPDATE: Tiny Cause has done its best for Sadie and Rocky – and in the end, that means separate homes. The two may have been separated, but they are both happy and healthy in a loving home with adoptees who are giving them the best life!
