Democrats vent their fury as Joe Manchin expresses Action on Climate Change – Do you support it?
Between W. Virginia Supreme Court’s decision to sue the EPA last month and Manchin’s announcement yesterday, Democrats are asking to see the regulator.
In a Friday radio interview with WV MetroNews, Manchin confirmed that he told Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Thursday he is ready to vote to empower Medicare to negotiate drug prices and expand funding under the Affordable Care Act. However, he said he wanted to halt clean energy funding and other provisions of the Biden agenda bill until at least mid-August, citing inflation concerns.
“I said, ‘Chuck, that’s wrong, it’s not prudent to do something else [items] right now,” Manchin said, adding that if inflation falls, we can go back on the first of September and pass this piece of legislation, if it’s a good piece of legislation. “
Democratic politicians were not pleased.
“I don’t want to spend another minute thinking about what Joe Manchin will or won’t do,” said Representative Sean Patrick Maloney, Democratic House campaign chairman.
