20-2 heavyweight Adam Kownacki took on Ali Eren Demirezen 16-1 in a 10th round match scheduled for Saturday at Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York. Both big men threw heavy leather in first, with Kownacki appearing to be the more aggressive of the two. Kownacki caught up to the pace in the second, to the approval of the local crowd (Kownacki is the Polish Brooklyn boxer). Demirezen had his best round so far of the third round, pursuing and landing on his man.
The fourth round is an entertainment round. Once again, the warriors traded in leather. Things are still interesting in the fifth season, with Demirezen seemingly the sharper of the two warriors. Kownacki appeared to put his man on the line at the end of season six, Demirezen seemed to be the more active fighter in season seven. Kownacki looks better in the eighth, the body works well.
However, Kownacki could have been considerably tired by the ninth season, when he leaned against the ropes. On top of that, Demirezen simply landed better. The tenth and final round saw Kownacki continue to be tagged. He fought bravely, rallying bravely in the final minutes of the match, but was not good enough to win the match. Demirezen walked away with a UD win.
