Delta’s expanded Miami Sky Club is now open with a capacity of 300 people


Delta Air Lines’ so-called gateway hub in Miami just brightened up with the opening of an expanded Sky Club.

The airline has added more than 4,000 square feet and more than 100 seats to Miami Sky Club, located between terminals H and J at Miami International Airport (MIA).

This represents a more than 50% increase in waiting room capacity, meaning the space will no longer be as crowded as before. The Miami Sky Club outpost now totals more than 12,000 square feet with space for approximately 300 guests.

The Sky Club extension looks like many others Delta’s newest lounge. It features a locally inspired design, including a mosaic that pays homage to the city’s art deco architecture, new seating areas, better views, and electrical outlets in almost every seat.

Delta says the expansive area is designed for business travelers with a one-seat dining table, communal work desk and other private nooks for making phone calls or getting work done.

Delta’s expanded Miami Sky Club is open daily from 4:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. This Miami expansion was originally scheduled to be completed late last year, but that work has been postponed to 2024.

For Delta, this expansion is just the first of what is expected to be one Five blockbusters of the Sky Club network. The carrier plans to open two new clubs in Charlotte and Seattle, and will launch the first one The lounge is for business class only in New York, Los Angeles and Boston starting this summer.

Meanwhile, for Miami travelers, the expansion comes as the carrier is focusing on increased presence in South Florida thanks to a fledgling joint venture with South America’s LATAM. Delta and LATAM are active to grow their presence in Miami with a focus on connections across Latin America.

This summer, Delta will offer 34 peak-day flights from Miami to 12 destinations, including international service to Havana. All services will be operated on main equipment, with premium cabins available on all flights.

With the addition Daily service to Seattle launched in December, Delta’s domestic routes from Miami will include all nine of Delta’s domestic hubs, plus Raleigh, North Carolina; Orlando; and Washington, DC
