A NASCAR driver’s car-throwing rage helps him get bumper-to-bumper sponsorship

NASCAR driver and team owner Joey Gase threw his own rear bumper at another driver during the ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond Raceway two weeks ago. Gase was taken out of the Xfinity Series race by Dawson Cram and he wanted to express his disappointment with Cram so he tore the damaged panel off his destroyed car. NASCAR fined Gase $5,000 for his trouble. Second-place team owners do not worry about financial penalties later Choose a new sponsorBuffering delivers efficiency.

Videos of the futile brawl on the track immediately went viral. In an interview after his release from residential care, Gase said:

“I just wanted to give him a souvenir and let him know what he did. I believe I gave the kid his first start in Xfinity and [he] Come and borrow our tools, parts and accessories weekly. He’s a good kid but every race he loses his temper. He always had the speed, but he always lost his cool in every race.”

Joey Gase: “Wanted to give Dawson Cram a souvenir”

The team quickly took advantage of the enthusiastic support of the driver owner. The Joey Gase race has begun sell t-shirts branded with the phrase “Enjoy Your Souvenir” and a photo of Gase tossing the case. However, its latest partnership with Online replacement auto parts retailer Bumpers That Deliver takes the cake. The company stated in a release:

“Joey Gase’s intense passion for racing reflects our dedication to providing top-notch bumpers. His unique bumper delivery last week shows why we’re so excited to support Joey Gase Racing, the National Crime Prevention Council and Donate Life. We are your top choice for premium replacement auto parts, bringing convenience and quality right to your doorstep.”

NASCAR actually penalized Gase for approaching cars going around the track, not throwing bumpers, using a catch-all clause in the rulebook stating that drivers are not allowed to endanger themselves or competitor. Joey Gase Racing won’t be worried about the No. 53 fine Ford Mustang fully decked out with bumpers that brought colors to the Cabo Wabo 250 at Michigan International Speedway in August.
