Deion Sanders talks about becoming a grandfather for the first time
On Wednesday, April 10, PEOPLE published their exclusive interview with Sanders. During the conversation, the 56-year-old man shared his feelings when he learned that he was about to become a grandfather for the first time.
“I haven’t fully digested that yet,” He explained.
From there, Sanders went on to share what he’s most proud of about his daughter and her pregnancy.
“I’m proud of my child because at least he waited until he was 30 to give me this gift of life.” He explained.
Furthermore, Sanders explains what remains his biggest concern as his daughter embarks on her motherhood journey.
“I’m happy about that, but I want to make sure that she’s also emotionally and psychologically straightforward,” he added.

As The Shade Room previously reported, Deiondra Sanders revealed she was pregnant on March 8. At the time, Sanders shared a video that initially showed her visiting the doctor.
During their conversation, the medical professional informed Sanders that it would be difficult for her to get pregnant due to her battle with uterine fibroids. In addition, the doctor also revealed that if she could become pregnant, her pregnancy would be at high risk.
As the clip continues, Sanders reappears in a white dress and clutching her stomach. She also shared an emotional message revealing that she was pregnant.
“I never thought I would be here but here we are,” she wrote. “I know a lot has happened in the past month but what hasn’t happened is that I can speak my own truth! So here it is… Even though this was not planned or expected, this is still something God allowed to happen… I gave birth to this child to give hope to all other women who can fell into my situation. No matter what the doctor says, God HAS THE LAST SAY! The miracle that grew in me was not just a coincidence but a divine blessing. Welcome to my pregnancy journey.”
The father of the 31-year-old child was also revealed
After that day, Jacquees took to Sanders’ comments section and shared his love for the mom-to-be.
“I love you and I have you. BLESSINGS OTW 🙏🏾❤️ THANK YOU JESUSSSS 💯❤️,” he wrote on The Shade Room.
Initially, it seemed unclear whether Jacquees was the father of Sander’s first child. However, the singer later confirmed this speculation with his own Instagram post, where he called Sanders his “future mother.”
Most recently, on April 10, Jacquees took to Instagram to share an update on his and Sander’s pregnancy. The singer shared a photo of him and Sanders along with photos of their recent ultrasound.
